KabarIndonesia will celebrate its first anniversary this Nov. 11. It has adopted a system of citizen journalism in collecting and publishing news and articles. Like other online media, KabarIndonesia publishes nearly every kind of news, from regional to international news, from healthcare to poetry, from politics to finance, and so on. KabarIndonesia is mainly written in Bahasa Indonesia.

| KabarIndonesia has been published for a year ago by "Yayasan Peduli Indonesia" (Care About Indonesia Foundation), based in the Netherlands. As citizen journalism media, its writers are continuing to grow in number -- 3,000 as of now. This is a substantial number for a new online citizen journalism newspaper. There are at least three people behind the operations of KabarIndonesia, namely Elisabeth Widiyati living in the Netherlands as the President Director, Wilson Lalengke living in Indonesia as Chief Editor, and Fida Abbott living in the U.S. as the Managing Editor.
On its first anniversary, KabarIndonesia will inaugurate a "Citizen Reporter of the Year" for 2007, as elected by its readers. Today, the competition is still going strong. There are 11 candidates who are competing for Citizen Reporter of the Year. Among them, it is likely that either Supadiyanto living in Jogyakarta (Central Java, Indonesia) or Denny Sitohang living in Medan (North Sumatra, Indonesia) will win the competition.
The celebration of KabarIndonesia’s anniversary will be in Jakarta, Indonesia. Happy Anniversary KabarIndonesia, wishing you the best luck in the future.
