Liga Deportiva Universitaria of Ecuador defeated Velez Sarsfield of Argentina when they faced off at the Casa Blanca football stadium in Quito, Ecuador on Thursday.

Each team is comprised of the the best footballers in their home countries, which made for an exciting match.

Velez Sarsfield scored the first point just 10 minutes into the match, a score that would not be answered by Liga Deportiva Universitaria until the minute 66.

Liga came back to win the game with another goal, kicked by Carlos Espinola, at minute 74.

The win for Liga puts the team into the semifinals of the Nissan Sud Amerecana.

The first game of the semifinal is set to be played in Uruguay the next Thursday.
