Two weeks ago during the SAP 2009 Forum - held in Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil - we had the opportunity to record a presentation by Mr. Peter Graf about the first launch of SAP green resolutions. That event, one of the most important in the region regarding the software industry, had many important executives present.

During the event I got an opportunity to set up an interview with one of these important executives, Emilio Marino (Senior VP SAP Business Objects for Latin America). Mr. Marino, since the integration of SAP and Business Objects in January of 2008, brought to the SAP family more than 15 years of experience in the industry.

Before Business Objects, Mr. Marino was Vice President and General Director for Latin America for JD Edwards World Solutions -- a PeopleSoft company -- and directed activities of sales, services, commercialization and operations in Latin America. He received his degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela.

I asked Mr. Marino about the event itself, SAP growth expectation for the whole of Latin America, Latin America as a market for investors during the present crisis, and his message to Asian investors and entrepreneurs in general.
